Nautical Star

This table is inlaid with the pattern of a nautical star.
This tattoo was used in the 1940’s and 50’s as a way
for lesbians to recognize each other. The strategy was
to get the tattoo on your wrist,
where your watch would cover it
when it needed to be covered.
